BREAST SURGERY (REPAIR)

These operations can be performed simultaneously with breast surgery such as mastectomy (breast removal surgeries). There is no medical barrier to breast reconstruction in all mastectomy patients, and most patients are suitable for simultaneous reconstruction with mastectomy. GYNECOMASTIA

Reduction(breast) plastic surgery procedures performed in men are called gynecomastia. Breast enlargement, which can cause aesthetic and psychological problems, can be treated in a short time with various aesthetic surgical methods such as liposuction applications and gynecomastia. This condition usually occurs with an excess of estrogen. It is not a dangerous situation, but since the breast volume increases, it slightly increases the risk of breast cancer in men. This condition, which can be seen frequently in men, is usually benign. Especially recently, gynecomastia is more common due to the frequent use of hormonal foods and pesticides. Apart from these, breast enlargement may also rarely occur in cortisone, steroid use, excessive alcohol consumption, or liver diseases.

Gynecomastia, which expresses the excessive growth of the breast in men, can sometimes cause pain and sometimes serious psychological disorders. Why it occurs is often not known exactly. Generally, gynecomastia may occur as a result of an underlying hormonal imbalance such as deterioration in the estrogen-androgen ratio. Lung cancer, adrenal gland, and liver diseases, pituitary tumors, thyroid disorders, and kidney failure can also cause breast enlargement. Some drugs can be among the factors that can cause breast enlargement.

GYNECOMASTIA ADMINISTRATION METHODS

Correction of gynecomastia can be applied with the aesthetic surgery method or the liposuction method. In general, liposuction can be preferred for low and moderate sagging. However, if the tissue under the nipple is above a certain size or if there is severe sagging, plastic surgery may be required. In these operations, laser liposuction is preferred because it leaves few scars and the recovery time is short. In the procedures performed with laser liposuction, after the fat removal, the skin base is heated with the laser to create a tightening effect on the skin. In cases where the breast tissue is in the foreground compared to adipose tissue, liposuction alone is not sufficient. In such cases, in addition to liposuction, breast tissue is removed by aesthetic surgery. In such mixed operations, the scar of the operation is very small.

In some cases of gynecomastia, the excess skin becomes very evident, and the breast sizes of these people can be almost as large as the female breast. In such cases, open aesthetic surgery is required.

After the operation, which takes an average of one hour, patients are discharged either on the same day or the next day. After the gynecomastia operation, patients should use a corset, also called a gynecomastia corset, for 2-3 weeks.
