FACELIFT:
As time progresses, with the effects of sun rays, gravity, and aging, our tense, energetic, and healthy skin turns into an old, tired, and wrinkled appearance. Facelift surgeries help you take back what time has been taken from you. However, it does not stop aging and does not reverse time. The goal is to give you a younger and healthier look. In the meantime, it can help boost your inner confidence, make you feel younger, and get excited about life again. With aging, the deep tissues and skin of the face and neck loosen, and lines and wrinkles appear and deepen over time. The fatty tissues on the cheeks hang down, the transition from the face to the neck becomes unclear, and the sharp boundaries of the chin disappear. Due to the sagging of the skin under the chin, a double chin is formed. The face and neck may appear tired and sometimes sad, although the person typically still feels young and energetic. Facelift surgery is an effective procedure for treating age-related facial changes, especially if there are changes in the neck. Today, modern facelift techniques are used, which provide natural rejuvenation without creating significant tension on the facial skin, and have long-term and predictable results. Different rejuvenation techniques are used to correct different parts of the face. The patient’s wishes and expectations are as decisive as the anatomical features of the face and neck. Other methods that are frequently applied together with facelift surgery are lower and upper eyelid surgeries; forehead and brow lift, lifting surgeries can help to get more effective results. The process of absorbing fat from the neck is also often added to the surgery and the unbalanced appearance of the stretched face and the less-treated neck is prevented.
FOREHEAD AND TEMPLE LIFT (EYEBROW LIFT):
There are transverse lines on the forehead, which normally vary in depth from person to person. Between the eyebrows, these lines become vertical. As with the facial skin, the forehead skin begins to loosen and sag in parallel with the progression of age and the existing lines become deeper. Over time, the eyebrows go down and a tired-looking facial expression emerges. Malnutrition, smoking, irregular lifestyle, stress, air pollution, inadequate or no skincare, the effect of gravity, and facial expressions facilitate this aesthetically disturbing result. This surgery is usually applied to male and female patients over the age of 40 who have no other health problems. With forehead lift surgery, the lines on the forehead are minimized. The eyebrows drooping over the eyes are lifted to the right place and the person is given a fresh look. At the same time, some of the lines near the eyes can be removed to some extent. If there is a large amount of sagging and the skin needs to be removed, the classical forehead lift method is applied. In the classical method, the hairline is 4-5 cm. A crown-like scar remains behind, but this scar is hidden in the scalp. Eyebrow lift surgery, which is performed to restore the eyebrows to their normal state, is an operation that is intertwined with forehead lift surgery.
NON-SURGERY FACELIFT:
The rope suspension application method is a procedure performed with materials that can be used safely and easily, to prevent sagging that may occur on the face with the effect of gravity and environmental factors with advancing age or to treat the sagging that occurs. Apart from the face area, this application is also used in neck sagging, breast sagging, lifting the hips, and recovering the sagging of the arms and legs. The threads used for this process can be permanent or temporary, that is, infusible form. They are attached to the tissue using a toothed system, which we can also define as herringbone. They are placed under the skin and used for the treatment of sagging anywhere on the face and neck. Permanent suspension threads show long-term effectiveness. Threads’ infusible form, on the other hand, can stand between 6 months and 2 years without deterioration, depending on the material they are manufactured from. Sagging on the cheeks and chin, deep folds on the rim, appearance, and sagging on the neck can be easily removed by hanging the thread. The application is performed with local anesthesia for an average of 30 minutes and the result is immediately noticeable.
OIL INJECTION:
Fat injection is the injection of the patient’s own fat tissue into the areas of the face with tissue deficiencies, after certain procedures. Fat tissue is taken from certain parts of the body (belly circumference, hip, thigh side, or inner side) and undergoes certain processes. It gives volume to the injected area and removes wrinkles. Lip volume can be increased, cheekbones can be made more prominent. Cheek and forehead volume can be increased. Depth of injection; It varies according to the location and depth of the wrinkles. Over time, some of the adipose tissue may be absorbed and its effect may decrease. Absorption usually takes place within the first 6 months. Therefore, more than one session may be required. Alternative treatment methods include collagen products, Hyaluronic acid, permanent implants. Make-up can be applied 24 hours after the oil injection.
FACIAL REJUVENATION WITH LASER:
With the effect of sun rays, wrinkles on the face increase, and the upper layers of the skin become of poor quality. In the regeneration of facial skin damaged by the effect of the sun, applications are made using a laser. Facial scars and color changes can be minimized with laser applications. Wrinkles can also be corrected with laser treatment applications.
The following types of laser are used in facial rejuvenation:
- Carbon dioxide laser technique: It is used in the removal of benign tumors on the skin, in the treatment of wrinkles, and in facial rejuvenation.
- Erbium YAG laser technique: It is used for the removal of vascular masses and facial rejuvenation. With these devices, wrinkles around the eyes and upper lip and restructuring of the damaged upper skin layers can be done.
- Application Process and Duration: Since laser beams act by creating a very superficial controlled burn on the skin, the application is performed in hospital conditions, under the supervision of an anesthesiologist, in the operating room. It can be done with local anesthesia. Depending on the procedure, the application takes 1-2 hours.
After Application:
The early period after the application is usually comfortable. Open wound treatment is applied to the areas where the laser is applied. There may be a feeling of tension and pain in the application areas. A general swelling occurs on the face. A light headwrap may be applied. The dressing is opened after 2 days. General inspection and dressing changes are made. Excessive facial swelling and pink and reddish color changes may last for 3-6 months. However, these can be covered with make-up after 1 week. According to the recovery process, the person can return to work within 3 weeks. It takes up to 6 months for the swelling and redness to disappear. After the application, the sun should be avoided for 6-12 months and sunscreen products should be used.
